A cabinet builder is responsible for the preparation, positioning, and assembly of the cabinetry parts based on product order specifications. The position requires a strong attention to detail, accountability to self and others, and interdepartmental communication.
- Support the CARE values of the organization.
- Commit to producing a quality product for our customers.
- Attach parts and subassemblies together to form completed units, using glue, dowels, nails, screws, and/or clamps.
- Operate gluing machines to glue pieces of wood together, or to press and affix wood veneer to wood surfaces.
- Unclamp work pieces and remove them from machines.
- Use hand and power tools to install various components in the manufacturing of cabinets.
- Bore holes for insertion of screws or dowels, by hand or using boring machines.
- Install hardware such as hinges, handles, catches, and drawer pulls, using hand tools.
- Produce and assemble components of articles such as store fixtures, office equipment, cabinets, and high-grade furniture.
- Verify dimensions, and check the quality and fit of pieces in order to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Experience in woodworking or carpentry preferred.
- Knowledge of how to add and subtract measurements.
- Proficient with reading measuring devices to include tape measures, straight ruler, and levels.
- Able to identify proper tools needed to complete tasks and use them effectively.
- Detail Oriented.
