Paint Sprayers-1st Shift

About the Job
The Paint Sprayer is responsible for the application of solvent-based paints, stains and other coating materials on wood components. The Paint Sprayer is also responsible for color match verification and quality assurance of parts finished.

  • Must be able to learn to measure out and catalyze material as needed.
  • Must ensure the quality application of coatings to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Must keep supervisor and/or manager informed of the quality of parts received from other departments.
  • Must be able to learn to maintain a spray application of 3.5-4.0 wet mils on all parts on a consistent basis.
  • Must have the ability to produce and ensure a quality finish from start to finish.
  • Must have a good "color eye."
  • Ability to adjust spraying equipment to insure proper application of coating materials.
  • Must be able to read and understand instructions and documents in English.
  • Possess the ability to learn all species of wood used for production and finish colors by sight.
  • Learn and maintain knowledge of the Essential Cabinetry Group Hazardous Communication Program.
  • Learn and maintain knowledge of basic hazardous waste generator responsibilities.
  • Learn to accurately label containers for paints, stains, cleaning solvents and hazardous waste.
  • Properly dispose of used finishing products in the designated hazardous waste accumulation points.
  • Adhere to all OSHA, EPA, federal, state, and local laws.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or its equivalent required with 0-2 years’ experience in related field.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to understand work instructions and directions in English.
  • Good analytical skills.
